Very Quiet Few Days
It has been a very quiet few days for me besides doing work. Saturday I went to the local comic book store, along with getting to the Bookstore. I needed to get a recipe book for Weight Watchers. I am in the end of the first week of Weight Watchers. I need to do this for me. I didn't want to make a big splash announcement. That is why I am not going to talk as much about it during the next few weeks. I will occasionally mention it in my Livejournal posts. I have a lot of weight to lose (thinking in 10 pound increments instead of the lot I have). My first goal is about 20 pounds or so to wear a Tuxedo at the Hugos in August.

I will be doing something different this weekend and that is to finally get to the BSFS meeting on Saturday night. This will be my first Balticon and BSFS meeting ever. I hope I can meet some Science Fiction fans and learn somethings about Balticon coming up. It should be an interesting experience on Saturday evening.

Wow, good luck with the weight loss. I stalled out at a certain point. Good thing I didn't buy a tux. I have stuck with my WSFS uniform for formal occassions like the Hugo Ceremony since 2005, although people calling the uniform "dress whites" are mistaken. (A dress uniform would have cost a lot more than what I did put together, and it was not cheap as it was.)

My Tuxedo for the Hugos will be a rental, also. For a once of year event, it is cheaper to rent a tuxedo. I have a suit that I want to fit into in case I find $200 tuxedo rentals.

I may or may not be there, depending on whether I feel up to driving to New York. Maybe I should wear a black shirt or something.

My goal is to lose 1 ounce a day, which is probably the rate that I gained it. A modest goal, but if I had started doing that after I got out of the hospital 8 years ago. I'd weigh what those insurance company charts would say I should weigh. (Although, I probably wouldn't, my previous attempts at the brass ring had me stalling at 150 lbs. but I'd be ecstatic to weigh that now. OTOH, if I had done that, I'd probably be rejecting the guy I have a crush on as Too Fat for me. It's always something.) Good luck with WW--do those meetings still resemble a Turkish bazaar with all the crap they sell?

they don't really hawk product too much anymore. It's nice not to have to buy a damned thing from em! ;)

They don't do a Turkish bazaar anymore. There food is available at Target, so they don't do the Turkish Bazaar stuff anymore.

I have been on WW for 2 years (made lifetime status in January) and I lost 75 pounds. The plan works if you do it to the letter. Write down everything. It pays to be honest with yourself... and keep an easy-going outlook. Just learn to eat healthy, and be healthy, and the weightloss will fall into place. Don't fixate on the scale so much or you'll drive yourself batty. =)

You can do it!! *shakes pom poms*
