Random Thoughts of an Otaku - March 8th, 2008

Mar. 8th, 2008

01:49 pm - Worldcon Airfare worries, BSFS meeting and the Wyoming Caucus

I was hoping to wait until April or May to buy my plane ticket for Denvention, so I could see if Otakon gets a once in a lifetime guest (Hideaki anno for example) and so I could pay it off in a month or so. I am starting to worry that if I don't get my plane ticket soon I will be paying $400 plus. I had a great buy from flying from Philadelphia for $285 RT with tax, but I waited too late. I have to keep $400 for the room share from my estimates, so the less on the flight the better.

I am happy that the Wyoming Caucus is having such a great turnout. They already have three times the turnout with only half of the vote in. This is a great sign for Democracy. I think it will be a record turnout for the election in people and hopefully a increase in the percentage of Americans voting. The turnout usually increases, but the percentage is usually down because of population growth.

The BSFS meeting is today and it should be interesting. I hope to get to the meeting in time to listen to the Balticon part.
